Some contractors use empty credentials like "Our painters have 30 years experience" or "we can get everything done in one day", but at Fern Projects our main concern is job quality and customer experience. We are constantly on the lookout for the best designers and contractors with the best skills to ensure not only a great result, but also an experience you'll tell your friends about. We also know that good things take time, and we would rather make sure we get the job done properly rather than rushing and falling short of your expectations.

What kind of renovations can Fern Projects do?

We are experienced in everything from small room renovations (Nurserys, laundry rooms, bathrooms, etc...), to full house renovations including the interior and exterior of the home, including landscaping, decks, and fences. Our primary goal is to get you the house of your dreams without having to buy a new house! 
 
No job is too small or large, from simple painting and landscaping, to refacing your kitchen with new cabinet doors and countertops, all the way to tearing the house down to the studs and redesigning how you interact with your space.

I have no idea what design would good in my house, can you help with the design work?

YES! We are passionate about designing the perfect space for you and your family! Get in touch with us and we will arrange a one on one meeting with you to establish the scope of your job and to help bring together all those pinterest designs you love in a way that perfectly fits your home.
In fact, our founder Kent Madden is an multiple award winning designer who loves to brainstorm with clients to design the perfect space to call home. He loves to use his knowledge of colour, texture, and construction to bring the most beautiful spaces to life.

Do you have workers’ compensation and liability insurance?

Yes. We have $2 million in liability insurance and full WSIB coverage for our entire team. All of our subcontractors are required to be fully insured before stepping on any of our sites.

What if I have a problem after the job is over?

Accepted Answer

Our people are trained to go over each job in detail before they do a final walk-around with you to make sure that they don't miss anything, however, they are still human and can sometimes miss things. That is why we get our clients to take a look with fresh eyes before we settle up to make sure you are happy with our work. This process has helped us maintain a very low return rate to fix any missed spots, however we are happy to return if needed.

What is not covered under the 2 year warranty?

For painting, horizontal surfaces such as decks are not covered in the warranty. This is because they typically take a beating from foot traffic and weather. That’s why it is standard in the painting industry to stain and seal horizontal surfaces rather than paint them as stains tend to fade rather than peel off in sheets like paint does. We also can't warranty jobs that are not paid in full (original quoted price), or jobs that are painted with customer provided paints or stains as we cannot guarantee how those paints or stains will hold up. Our flooring warranty doesn't cover scratches or chips in the materials, however we strive to use quality materials in all our projects to ensure warranties are seldom called in. At the end of the day, we stand by our work and we strive to work through issues customers may have within reason.
